Kendrick Lamar – Style Evolution

Kendrick Lamar’s 2012 major label debut, Good Kid, m.a.a.d. City was labeled an instant classic, and virtually every music critic that matters has heralded him as the new savior of hip-hop.

As much as Kendrick has pushed himself to be a better rapper, he’s also pushed himself to be a better dresser.

This is the style evolution of Kendrick Lamar.

When Kendrick freestyled a verse at a Charles Hamilton concert in 2008, hip-hop heads took notice of the young backpack rapper’s flow. His style at this time was like a starter kit for West Coast rappers: plaid, button-down shirts, baggy jeans, and a baseball cap.
