10 Nazi Inventions Still in Use Today

Not only did Nazi Germany create the first production helicopter, they also came up with the concept of combining vertical take-off and landing with the speed and economy of fixed-wing aircraft. The result was the Focke-Achgelis Fa 269, a tiltrotor VTOL aircraft project designed by Heinrich Focke. World War II was over before the craft could be mass-produced, but the idea caught on, most notably with the V-22 Osprey and the Harrier Jump Jet.
