Andrew Jackson, the 7th POTUS, a war vet and one of the most badass presidents that ever lived, was a gunslinger even off the battlefield. He’s said to have fought up to 100 duels in his lifetime and was shot multiple times. In 1806, the future president killed Charles Dickinson in a duel after he cheated on a horse bet and insulted Jackson’s wife. He was also on the wrong end of the first ever attempt on a US President’s life, which ended with him beating the would-be assassin almost to death with his cane.
