In 2010, Charlie Sheen was staying at The Plaza, located across from Central park; and is one of the highest-ranked hotels in New York City. During his brief stay, Charlie had an “adverse reaction to medication,” according to reports, and destroyed his hotel room. He allegedly was partying the night before, hired an “escort” for the evening and smashed up a chandelier that was worth thousands of dollars.

His ex-wife was also staying at the hotel with their children at the time (in a different room), and Charlie had just gotten out of rehab about two months prior to the escapade. Charlie is banned from The Plaza for the duration of his lifetime, due to his erratic behavior.
